Municipal General Election

The City of Guyton will hold a municipal general election on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. City electors will vote to fill one mayoral seat and two council seats. Those elected will serve a four-year term beginning January 1, 2024. This election will be conducted by the Effingham County Elections and Registration Office located at 284 GA Highway 119S, Springfield, Georgia 31329. This election shall be conducted pursuant to the Georgia Election Code O.C.G.A. § 21-2-1 et seq. and the Charter of the City of Guyton, GA.
Qualified Candidates are as follows:
Mayor – Russ Deen - Incumbent
Andrew Harville
Michael Garvin
Post 1 – T. Marshall Reiser - Incumbent
Jeremiah Chancey
Post 2 – Hursula Pelote - Incumbent
Theodore Hamby
Advance voting will be held at the Effingham County Elections and Registration Office located at 284 GA Highway 119 S, Springfield, Georgia, on the following dates and times:
• Monday October 16, 2023, through Saturday October 21, 2023, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Monday October 23, 2023, through Saturday October 28, 2023, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Monday October 30, 2023, through Friday November 3, 2023, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
No advance voting on Saturday, November 4, 2023, or Monday, November 6, 2023.
